Professor A. Aziz Djajaputra

Dr.Ir.Abdul Aziz Djajaputra is a Professor at the Civil Engineering Department of ITB (Institute of Technology Bandung), Indonesia. Professor Aziz is a past President of the Indonesian Society for Geotechnical Engineering, past President and now hold the position of Advisor in that society, member (life member) of ASCE, and member of IGS.
Professor Aziz obtained his Bachelor degree (Ir) from Institute of Technologi Bandung (ITB), Master of Science in Civil Engineering from University of Kentucky USA, and PhD from ITB.
Professor Aziz has been teaching at ITB for more than 30 years. Currently he is a member of the Senate of the Institute. In addition to teaching and administrative duty, Professor Aziz has been active in research and publication, especially in areas of ground settlement monitoring of Jakarta city caused by buildings and groundwater fluctuation, trial embankment for highway purposes in the Kalimantan site dealing with peaty soils, prediction of surface heaving during piling in soft cohesive soils, study on several non-linear soil models to deal with problems in deep-excavation using finite element approach, behaviour of berm in the stability of basement construction, study on the application of LRFD method for pile foundation in and around Jakarta city, foundation repair and strengthening for buildings in Jakarta and Kalimantan due to excessive uneven settlements, and in restoration project like the Borobudur temple in Central Java from 1975-1985
